Fishing Report

July 10, 2010

Walleye have been biting on Cass Lake. Best results is with crawlers or leeches during the day, off the breaks and bars starting around 10 feet and working out to 20, 22. Evening bite, coming up into the weed line and using shad raps and rapajas. A couple of buddies of mine did really well out there last night.

Sunfish are biting out on Leech. I heard Pike Bay was getting some nice jumbo perch. Weather has been great and sound like everyone had a pretty good 4th of July.

Hope to see you out on the water.

Good fishing!

Happy 4th of July

July 2, 2010

We are getting ready for a busy weekend. Spot tail shiners are done now, so I am trying to get some river shiners or golden shiners in at the store. We do have redtails, fatheads, crappie, light and heavy northern minnows. There are a lot of leeches and crawlers being used this time of year. Seems like the best fishing has been the evening bite. They are having good success with rapajas.

Here's wishing you all a safe and happy holiday weekend from all of us at Froggy's Sports!

Hope to see you out on the water.

Good fishing!

Fishing Report

June 25, 2010

Well, we have fronts coming and fronts going. If we would get some stable weather for a few days in a row, that would help, but all in all, there are fish still being caught.

We had a couple in today to get some shiners. They are fishing out of Macardles Resort on Winnie and getting walleyes. We have heard that leeches have been working out there also.

Cass Lake still seems to be a jig and a minnow and some crawlers. May fly hatch is about over on Leech, so fishing should start picking up there. Seems like they are having their best luck in that 10 to 22 feet of water and then coming up in the evening. Some guys are having luck using Shad Raps and Rapaja's too in the evening.

Good fishing!

Fishing Report

June 13, 2010

Well, the sun actually came out about 4PM today and it was a great evening. I think everybody enjoyed getting out after a week of wet weather. Last week was slow with the weather being the way it was, but there were fish being caught. Guys are working that 10 to 22 feet off the breaks and bars. Water temperature has dropped four or five degrees with the cool, wet weather we had.

Jig and shiner are still working on Cass. Crawlers and leeches are starting to go though too.

Laura, from Tamarack Lodge on Winnie was in to get shiners and crawlers. Sounds like fishing has been good out there to.

Hope to see you out on the water.

Good fishing.

Fishing Report

June 1, 2010

Fishing is still going strong. Water temp is in the mid 60's, so we are seeing more leeches and crawlers leavng the store, but the jig and minnow is still doing well. We have reports of good walleye bite in 10 to 12 feet of water and also around 17 feet. It seems like working those weed lines and just off the breaks and bars is doing really well.

Check out our new t-shirts and sweatshirts we have at the store. Also, remember our sweet horseradish pickles are back. We also have Froggy aprons and reversible bags made by my sister in Alaska. Check them out! We have something for everyone.

Have a great day. See you out on the water!

Good fishing.

Fishing Report

May 26, 2010

Cass Lake, Pike Bay, Winnie and Leech have all been doig well. Walleys are biting in about that 14 to l8 foot range and jig and minnow are still the first choice of bait. Leeches are starting to go now, as well as crawlers. We have heard the crappie and panfish bite are on.

With the good fishing and this great weather, we have a great start to the open water fishing season.

We wish you all a safe and happy Memorial weekend.

See you out on the water.

Fishing Report

May 16, 2010

One of the best openers we have had in a long time! Weather is great and fish are biting. We have had good reports from Cass, Andrusia and Big Wolf. 15 feet seems to be the rule of thumb. We have lots of shiners and leeches going out the door.

A special "thanks" to all our family and friends for helping us out this busy weekend. Sounds like the weather will continue to be great for the coming week. Hope you will be able to get out and enjoy!

See you out on the water!
