Fishing Report

August 31,2010

Because of all the windy days we have been having, there hasn't been a whole lot of fishermen out and about. The fish are there, but the winds have been making it really difficult to get out to that favorite spot.

Winnie will be busy with a pro tournament Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Guys pre-fishing have been boating some nice fish, but they are really getting pounded by the winds. We wish all the contestants good fishing and a good and safe contest.

With the cooler weather coming the next few days, we got in some creek chubs, red tails, rainbows and river mix minnows today. We are hoping everyone will be able to get out this holiday weedend and enjoy some fishing.

Bear hunting also opens up tomorrow and I will be going out and see if I can get lucky. I am hoping my father-in-law will be able to get his first bear this year.

Here's wishing you all "Good Fishing and Good Hunting".

Fishing Report

August 23, 2010

My buddy, Chad Pribyl, is up from Monticello, with his family and doing well on Cass Lake. The walleye fishing has been pretty consistent. Crawlers during the day and shap raps in the evening, is still the ticket.

There is a big pro walleye tournament on Winnie this coming weekend. From what we have heard, they should have pretty good luck.

I've been doing some bear baiting. Looking forward to the bear opening coming in a little over a week.

Good fishing!

Fishing Report

August 21, 2010

Time seems to just fly by! Fishing is still going strong on Cass Lake and Winnie. We have had a few stormy nights, which slows things down a bit, but all in all, fishing has been doing really well. Crawlers seem to be the key right now, along with fatheads. Fishing breaks and bars during the day and then throwing shadraps and rapajas off the weedlines in the evening.

We are looking forward to the last big holiday of the summer and then fall will be coming. We are selling deer licenses already. The summer seems to just fly bye.

Have a good weekend. Hope to see you on the water.

Fishing Report

Fishing has been awesome on area lakes! Cass has been great for walleye, jumbo perch and muskie have also become active. Talked to Laura from Tamarack Lodge on Winnie and she reported that fishing has been doing well there too. During the day, guys are using spinner rigs with crawlers or minnows and shad raps and rapalas are still going strong in the evening, along the weed lines. Hope you will have a chance to get out and enjoy the great fishing, as well as the nice weather we have had.

Hope to see you out on the water.

Good fishing!

Fishing Report

July 25, 2010

Fishing has been great this weekend and so was the weather! Walleye are biting on Cass Lake and Pike Bay, along with some nice perch. Laura from Tamarack Lodge on Winnie was in today to get some more crawlers and said that they have been having good luck out there too. Pan fish are also biting on some of the smaller area lakes.

Rib Fest was a big success! Fun was had by all. The band was great and the street dance was a load of fun. Beautiful weather and even a full moon made the night complete. We are looking forward to next year already.

Hope to see you out on the water.

Good fishing!

Fishing Report

July 21, 2010

With the fronts coming and going, fishing has been hit and miss. A group of guys had luck on Big Wolf for walleye using river mix minnows that we have at the store. Cedar Bar and North Cedar Bar, along with Turtle River Bar and Deadman's Bar are producing walleye on Cass. Shad raps and rapajas are still working in the evening along the weed lines as the walleye come in to feed. There have been some nice muskey raised out on Cass the last couple of days, also.

The fish are there. You just have to work around the rain we have had every couple of days. Temperatures have been nice and getting out on the water is sure better then working!

Good fishing!
