Fishing Report

This has been a really brutal month, weather wise, and I for one am glad to see January come to an end!

Fishing has been doing okay on most area lakes.  It's just been tough, with the cold, wind and snow.  Roads have been plowed on most lakes now and everyone seems to be moving around okay.  Park Rapids has their fishing contest this weekend and the Cass Lake Fishing Challenge will be February 8th on Cass Lake.

Sounds like the weather this weekend will be pretty good, none of that 30 below stuff.  Hope you can get out and enjoy "hard water fishing".  Stop in and say "Hi" when your in the area.

Froggy is still renting out houses on Allen's Bay on Cass Lake.

COLD, COLD AND MORE COLD1  Not too much happening on a day like today and sounds like Monday and Tuesday, we are going to really be in the deep freeze, with lots of wind.

We will keep you informed, best we can, as to what's happening.  The Old Toad let me stay home today and I did some baking and even took a short nap.

We are hearing good reports from Pike Bay yesterday and today.  Perch and walleye in that l8 to 20 foot range.

Keep those snuggies on! They are saying the low tonight will be 25 to 30 below zero!!

Cass Lake, Winnie and Pike Bay all reporting in and "fishing is good!"  Weather has been pretty nice the last few days and fish seem to like it too.

Have a good weekend and get out and enjoy being on the ice when you can.

We had good fishing reports yesterday.  Fish were biting on Plantanganet, Pike Bay and Cass Lake.  Froggy's fishermen did really well with the evening bite on Cass last night.  Warmer weather has definitely improved the fishing. 

Hope you will get a chance to get to the lake and do some fishing.

Good news!  Froggy has been out plowing roads on the north end of Cass Lake.  Things will be opening up now and it sounds like a good weekend, weather wise.   Now everybody will be able to get out and about and do some fishing!

Cold, cold and more cold!  Temp this morning was 30 below zero and then we have a windchill besides.  Sounds like one more really cold day and then weather will start to moderate and sounds really nice for the coming weekend.

Store was really slow today, not many brave soles wanting to brave the cold and wind.  Most of the guys are driving out now.  Always use caution, ice is never really safe.

Hopefully we will have more to report on fishing in the next couple of days, when fishermen start going out again.
