It has been a really nice weekend. Fishing has picked up the last couple of days too. We have heard of some muskie and northern action.
Cass Lake is picking up some walleyes in about 15 to 18 feet of water and in the evening, they are using shad raps and rapajas, going in shallower. Winnie also has been doing well. Seems like leeches and crawlers are the bait of choice. With the warmer water, minnows are harder to keep, but there are still golden shiners and some redtails doing the trick.
Some of the smaller lakes have been producing some nice sunfish.
Hope you all are able to get out and enjoy this great weather we have been having this weekend.
See you on the lake!

Fishing Report
July 13, 2008
We have had lots of wind the last couple of days, so that has kept many fishermen on shore. We had a storm go through Wednesday night and several resorts around Cass Lake had trees go down. Temps have been nice - in the 70's; but lots of wind.
Hopefully the weather pattern will settle down in a couple of days and we can get back to fishing. Northern have been going on Big Wolf and Cass Lake and Pike Bay were still producing walleye and perch. Fish seem to be hanging around 14 to 18 feet off the breaks and bars and then shallower in the evening, using some Shad Raps and Rapaja's.
I have been trying to get a new floor put in on my boat and have been canning some homemade jams and jellies. We have some family recipes that we are using. Takes some time, but we enjoy it.
Good fishing!
