Fishing Report

July 28, 2013

Fishing has been okay.  Not great, but they are getting some to make it worth the while.  Walleye are in about 15 to 20 feet, off the breaks and bars.  Try for them along the weedline in the evening.  We are hearing some success with the pan fish, northern and bass.  It's just that time of the fishing season.

Weather has been really nice though, so it is still good to get out and getting fish is a bonus.

Froggy's oldest son, Jerimiah, is home on leave from Fort Hood, so we are spending as much time with him as we can.  He has so many friends and family to spend time with and so few days here at home.  It sure is nice to have him home for a few days.

Gramma Froggy and Auntie Mitz made a trip to Buffalo, for the Yonak family reunion on Saturday.  We had a great time and lots of good food to eat.  It's surprising how time gets away from you and we have so many cousins to catch up with.  So glad we made the trip down and got to see everyone.

Froggy is still working in Grafton, but will be taking a few days off to spend with Mia while he is home.

Hope you can get a chance to enjoy this weather and spend some time out on the lake.  Fishing might be a little slow, but it's better then working!

See you out on the water.

Good fishing!

Fishing Report

July 20, 2013

Friends of ours had a good day fishing on Winnie.  They worked that 15 to 25 foot range, off the breaks and bars.  Caught walleye, perch and a nice northern.  Pounded brass and river mix minnow was the key.  Way to go Brian and Ellen!  Thanks for the update.

Cooler weather for the next several days should turn on the bite.  We are also hearing that the pan fish have been biting on some of the area smaller lakes.  It was just a great day to be out on the water today.

Good fishing!

Fishing Report

July 18, 2013

We heard from one of the area fishing guides, Terry Larson, of Northern Advertures, that he has been picking up some nice perch and a few walleye on one of the area smaller lakes.  He is using our river mix minnows and working about 15 to 20 feet of water.  Thanks for the information, Terry!

Fishing Report

July 17, 2013

Minnows are really hard to keep right now with the warm weather.  Lake of oxygen in the ponds , means weak minnows.  Sounds like the weather is going to cool off some this weekend, hope that will help the minnow situation.  Lots of crawlers and leeches being used though, and fishing is slow.  It still is good to get out and enjoy the summer weather and do some pan fishing or play around with the old bucket mouth bass.  We do have some river mix, red tails and light northern minnows at the store, which do seem to hold up better right now then the fatheads minnows are doing.  We are hoping a couple weeks will make a difference in the minnow situation, and fishing will pick up a little too.

Have to wish Froggy's sister and our daughter, Melissa, a Happy 45th birthday in Anchorage, Alaska!

It's so nice to see so many people following our fishing reports.  We try to do the best we can to keep you all informed.  Thanks again!

See you on the water.

Fishing Report

July 15, 2013

Warm weather and fishng continues to be slow.  We are hearing of a few nice northern and some pan fish biting.  Walleye are just plain slow right now.  Best bet is crawlers and leeches and doing the shad raps and rapajas off the weedline in the evening.

Good fishing!

Fishing Report

You have to work a little harder for your fish right now.  Guys are catching fish, but putting more time into it.  Leeches and crawlers are the ticket.  A few minnows used, but they are really hard to keep with the warm water temps.  Keep fishing those breaks and bars, about that 8 to 15 foot range.  Shad raps in the evening along the weedlines.

Hope you all had a good 4th of July weekend.  We celebrated Froggy's birthday July 6th and were especially thinking about Froggy's oldest son, Jerimiah, stationed at Fort Hood, TX.  Thank you for your service, Mia!  Thanks to all current and past veterans for your service.

Froggy is off to Grafton, ND this week, for a cable job out there.

Don't forget the Faith in Action concert on August l6th .  There will be two performances; one at 2PM and again at 7PM.

See you out on the water.

Good fishing!
