Fishing Report

June 17,2009

Fishing on Cass Lake has been getting better since the water is warming up. Temp is about 64 degrees. Walleyes are biting on the north end in about 25 to 30 feet of water during the day. Shiners are still the main bait of choice, but the leeches and night crawlers are going strong also. The late evening bite on rapalas started about a week ago. There has been some nice walleye caught at night trolling on North Cedar Bar and the Narrows. There has also been a few muskies caught, but more follows then strikes. With the water temps warming up, that will change in a hurry. Northern pike have been more aggresive and many families are having a good time with a minnow and a bobber. Crappie fishing has slowed down.

On Lake Andrusia walleye have been biting in l8 feet of water. Shiners or fathead on a jig works well on this lake. Work the break lines and drop offs. There is also a nice hump to work between the two rivers that produce wallye all summer long. This is a nice little lake to fish. It not only holds a good number of walleye, but it is also known for it's northern pike. Take a sucker minnow and sit on the outside of the weed line or the edge of the cabbage.

Walleye fishing on Pike Bay has been good also. Fish are being caught on the center bar or working the edge of the cabbage line in 15 to 20 feet of water. Perch are being caught in 6 to 12 feet of water with a jig and a fathead minnow.

Remember to stay safe and have fun fishing. Please practice catch and release for the future.

Hope to see you on the water!

Good fishing!

Fishing Report

June 12, 2009

Fishing is tremendous on Leech Lake right now. Leech is a great lake to head out on right now and it is providing a tremendour walleye bite. Remember that Leech does have a slot limit of 17-27 inches.

Cass Lake is also producing walleyes, especially on the north end. The bite is most productive in 12 feet of water using a jig and a shiner/fathead or leeches.

Ravens Point on Winnie has been phenomenal. The bite has been strong mainly in 12-14 feet of water.

Andrusia and Pike Bay have both been doing well and most area bays have been producing a steady crappie bite.

A consistent weather pattern will help bring about a stronger bite.

Hope to see you out on the water.

Good fishing!

Fishing Report

June 2, 2009

Sorry it has taken so long to get a fishing report up and going. We are in the process of changing computers at Froggys and us "Red Necks" don't know too much about computers, so I hope you will all hang in there with us.

Fishing is picking up on Cass Lake, Big Wolf and Andrusia. Jig and a minnow seems to be working in about 20 feet on the north shore of Cass and also Pike Bay. Leeches and crawlers are just starting to go out the door. Water temperature is about 58 degrees. Hope it will start warming up soon. Seems like were all anxious for some warm weather!

Leech Lake has been doing awsome. There was a tournament last weekend and another one again this weekend.

Everyone seems to be glad to put on their snuggies and get out on the water, even though temps aren't the warmest, yet. Don't forget your bug spray!

See you on the water!

Good fishing,

Froggy
