Fishing Report
February 21, 2015
Eelpout contest is going on on Leech Lake this weekend. Walleye and northern close for the season this Sunday. Fishing has been doing okay. Would be nice to have a few days of warmer weather.
There is still plenty of ice, so hope you can get out and enjoy Minnesota hard water fishing.
The Old Toad is celebrating his 71st birthday today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM ALL OF US AT FROGGYS.

Fishing Report

Fishing continues to do well. Doesn't seem to be as many fishermen around this year, for some reason. Cass Lake fishing contest was last Saturday and Max Loewe won the big prize with a northern, over 4 lbs. Congratulations, Max! Those minnows he bought at Froggy's did the trick!
The Old Toad was in the hospital for a few days, but is back home and doing better each day. Just have to get him to take time to put his legs up each afternoon. That's the hard part!
Sounds like we have some snow coming today. Hope you can get out this weekend and get in some fishing. Stop by and say hi.

Fishing Report
January 27, 2015
It has been a quiet couple of days, not a lot going on. Corey Frazier had a northern fishing contest over the weekend out on Cass, Pike Bay and Andrusia. I heard the winning fish went about 14 pounds.
Weather has been good, with a cold spell coming this weekend. Hope you will get a chance to get up and do some ice fishing this weekend. We are heading towards the end of January already. Time really goes by fast.
The Cass Lake annual Fishing Challenge tournament will be February 7th. Keep that date open for lots of fun and good prizes.

Fishing Report

We are hearing good reports for walleye and perch on Cass Lake, Pike Bay and also on Leech Lake. Some nice size northern are being caught also. Bait of choice is the fathead and golden shiner minnows.
Hope you can get out and enjoy this great winter. Just enough snow, plenty of ice and good weather. Northern Minnesota is a great place to be!

Cold weather slowed down fishing a little, but we seen some really nice jumbo perch yesterday, that were caught out on Pike Bay. Sounds like the weather will be warming up this weekend, and I would think that would make for some good fishing! Hope you can get out and enjoy.
Froggy's Fish House Rentals did really well this weekend for northern. He had his group up from Buffalo and Monticello. They did well spearing, had a great time, and plan on coming back next winter.

Fishing Report

Fishing has slowed down, with the cold snap. We woke up to temps about 17 below this morning. We only got about 3 to 4 inches of snow the other day, so getting around is no problem. We really did need a little bit of insulation on the ground. Sounds like we will be warming up a few degrees each day this week.

We continue to hear good fishing reports from area lakes. Walleye are biting after dark in 8 to 9 feet of water.
Froggy's spear houses are picking up some nice size northern also. Everyone is driving out with vehicles and fish houses.

Walleye, perch and northern fishing are all doing well. We have had several guys going out for crappy, but they are pretty closed liped as to whether they are biting or not.
Ice conditions are good and the weather has been great. Hope you can get out and enjoy the hard water fishing this winter. This has been a real treat, compared to last year's conditions.

Fishing Report

We continue to hear walleye and perch being caught. Walleye are shallow, about 6 to 8 feet. Froggy's rentals are picking up some nice northern also.
We are hearing ice to be about 12 to 14 inches thick. Some are driving out with smaller vehicles. Check your area before you venture out.
We want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday season. Jerimiah will be home from Fort Hood this Christmas, so we will have all the tadpoles here this year! Family and friends - what a great gift!
We will be closing at noon on Christmas Eve Day and will be closed Christmas Day.

We are hearing some good fishing reports. Walleye and perch out on Pike Bay, Cass Lake and Leech. Nice walleye out on Andrusia and also getting some good size northern. One of Froggy's rental houses picked up a really nice northern yesterday, also. I believe it went around l3 pounds. Froggy posted a picture on Froggy's facebook.
Ice conditions are averaging around 12 inches. Some guys are reporting as much as 14 to 18 inches in areas. It's always a good idea to check the ice before you venture out. Snowmobiles and 4 wheelers are going out and an occasional light vehicle.

We are hearing some nice perch being caught and northern seem to be picking up too. With a good streak of weather coming in for the next 10 days or so, I would think fishing should be really going good. Froggy has been busy putting out his rental spear houses.
We got in golden shiners and also rainbow now. Hope you will be able to get out and enjoy this good ice and fishing.

Froggy is starting to put out a couple of spear houses. We had a couple of warm days last weekend, but we are now back to making ice weather. Everyone is starting to venture out. Be careful and make sure to check the ice as you go.

Ice Conditions
November 20, 2014
We are hearing about 4 inches of ice on Lake Thirteen and guys going out on Garfield also. One guy was going out by Tom's Harbor on Cass to try for some walleye, but Cass is still open in the middle. Steamboat is open yet, but someone said that it looked like Pike Bay had a layer of ice for as far as he could see. It is definitely making ice!
We are getting in some fresh bait today, and also some decoy minnows. Please remember to use caution, it is still early.

Ice Report

Little Wolf and Midge Lake are frozen over. Our bay on Big Wolf is also frozen. We're off to a good start. Just have to wait and see what Mother Nature has in store for us this winter season.
We have all our inventory out and got a small order from Northland Tackle yesterday too.
We will try to keep you informed on ice conditions, as best we can.
