Fishing Report

We are looking forward to another successful tournament that will showcase our great fishery and community. Saturday is just a couple days off and we have been working hard to get everything ready and in place. It looks like it will be a great day! Lots of fun will be had by all.

Last years tournament was won by Mike Justice with a 3.14 pound northern that was landed with about an hour left in the tournament.

Sounds like we will be having nice weather for the next several days, so fishing should be only getting better.

Hope to see lots of you out on the lake this weekend.

Good fishing.

Fishing Report

Beautiful weekend, but now a couple days of cold again. Sounds like it is suppose to start warming up on Wednesday and be real nice for the weekend. Everyone is getting ready for the fishing contest on Saturday. We will be going down to Strikemaster and other businesses to gather prizes for Saturday. There will be 50 or more prizes worth at least $100, plus all the money prizes. There will be food on the ice and portable are allowed. There will be an area plowed for the contest as well as for parking on the ice.

Friday night after the rules meeting at the Legion, the Fire Department is having a fish fry and Saturday after the fishing contest, the gun range is having a chili feed at the Legion.

We will be selling tickets right up until the contest starts. It will be a good time for all!

Hope to see you there.

Fishing Report

January 26, 2009

We are back in the deep freeze, but sounds like the temps will be warming up again by Wednesday. Cass Lake and Pike Bay are still producing some walleye and perch. Guys have been picking up a couple northern too. They aren't jumping in the holes, but there is enough activity to keep guys going out; and boy do those perch taste good!

Hope alot of you will be able to make it up on February 7th for the ice fishing contest. It's always a good time and there are lots of good prizes. Portable houses are allowed.

Hope to see you out on the ice.

Fishing Report

January 20, 2009

Not a whole lot more to report. Weather has been really nice the last few days and it seems to have helped the perch bite. There are still some walleye being caught also. Pike Bay and Cass Lake are doing well.

I had my kids up on Red Lake on Sunday and we did well and the kids really had a good time. Guess that's what it's really all about.

Hope we will get a chance to see you out on the lake.

Good fishing,

January 15, 2009

Sounds like the weather should start warming up tomorrow. That's good news! Pike Bay and Cass Lake are still producing some perch and walleye before dark on Pike Bay. I'm hoping that with the warm weather coming that the fishing will pick up this weekend.

Remember to keep the 7th of February open for the Cass Lake Winter Fishing Challenge. They have some great prizes and always lots of fun. Tickets are $30.00 or $35.00 out on the ice. Tournament is from 12PM to 3PM on Cass Lake. Rules meeting is the 6th, 7-9PM at the Legion. Walleye dinner from 4-7PM, with the proceeds going to the Cass Lake Volunteer Fire Department. Portable fish houses are allowed for the tournament. If you have any other questions, give us a call or contact the Cass Lake Chamber. We will be selling tickets here at Froggy's right up until the start of the tournament. Hope to see you all there.

Good fishing.

Fishing Report

January 13, 2009

Wow, what a crispy day! There are some guys going out for the walleye and perch today. Fishing has been slow the last few days. Sounds like we will have cold weather through Thursday and then it is going to warm up some for the weekend. Maybe that will trigger the fish to bite.

I am heading for Red Lake this afternoon to meet a buddy of mine and check out the fishing up there.

Hope you can enjoy this good old Minnesota winter! Keep warm. Once we make it through January, it seems like down hill after that.

Good fishing,

Froggy

Fishing Report

January 4, 2009

Well we didn't get blasted as bad as they had talked. We got just about 5 inches of snow yesterday. It is really cold today, but the sun is shining and that helps. Everyone is heading out to Pike Bay and Cass Lake today, getting resituated after the snow. Fishing has been good for walleye, perch and northern.

Good fishing. Hope to see you on the lake.
