Fishing Report
March 15, 2014
Weather pattern changes every couple of days. We get two days of warm weather and then it's back to a couple of days of cold weather again. Hopefully by the end of next week, the pattern will be on an up swing and stay in that direction.
We are hearing the best fishing reports from Pike Bay, working that 9 to 13 foot range. There is plenty of ice and we are hearing good going out on area lakes.

Fishing Report

Some of the snow is starting to melt and temps are warming up. Fishing has been slow. We are hearing the best results out on Pike Bay in about 9 to 13 feet. Another week of warmer weather should help. There is plenty of ice. Auger extensions are hard to find. We sold our last one we had at the store, yesterday. If you get a chance, get out and enjoy fishing out on the ice, while we still can!
The Old Toad was in the hospital for a few days and is back out now. His legs will be an ongoing issue for him. So, as the doctor says, we will take one day at a time! Sounds like good advise for just about anything.

Fishing Report

Not too much to report. It has been cold and not too many guys have been going out fishing. Sounds like a couple more days of really cold weather and then we are hoping to see some milder weather come in. There is plenty of ice, so there will be some good perch fishing coming up as soon as temperatures warm up. Guess we just have to hang in there.

Fishing Report

The Old Toad is 70 years old today! I made him a chocolate cake and we may go out for supper tonight. See how the roads are and how he feels. By the end of the day, it's nice sometimes just to relax at home. HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU OLD TOAD1
Fishing has been good on Pike Bay and Cass Lake. There are several guys going out on Leech too. Fatheads are minnow of choice in about 13 to 15 feet of water. Getting some nice perch and walleye. Northern and walleye season ends this Sunday.
Walker has the big eel pout tournament this weekend.
We got about 3 inches of snow yesterday and now the cold weather has returned. This has been a really brutal winter.
Froggy is pulling off his spear houses now. Have a great weekend everyone!

Fishing Report

Fishing continues to be doing well. We are not seeing the amount of fishermen around though. Guess with all the snow, cold and generally not the best of winters; guys are staying home where it is nice and warm.
Sounds like things are on the change though. This weekend should be great to get out on the ice and pick up some perch and walleye. Walleye and northern season will be over the end of the month, so get out while you can and enjoy this great northern Minnesota country.

Nice day to get out on the ice today. We had quite a few guys in for bait. Sounds like sunfish are biting on Winnie and perch out on Pike Bay and Cass Lake and then walleye in the evening. All in all we are hearing some good reports. Roads are plowed and everyone is getting around on the area lakes.
Next weekend, February 8th is the Cass Lake Fishing Challenge tournament. Hope you will be able to join in on the fun and the great prizes.

This has been a really brutal month, weather wise, and I for one am glad to see January come to an end!
Fishing has been doing okay on most area lakes. It's just been tough, with the cold, wind and snow. Roads have been plowed on most lakes now and everyone seems to be moving around okay. Park Rapids has their fishing contest this weekend and the Cass Lake Fishing Challenge will be February 8th on Cass Lake.
Sounds like the weather this weekend will be pretty good, none of that 30 below stuff. Hope you can get out and enjoy "hard water fishing". Stop in and say "Hi" when your in the area.
Froggy is still renting out houses on Allen's Bay on Cass Lake.
