Fishing Report
Hi from Mama Froggy and the gang! Froggy is off in Wyoming bow hunting for whitetail deer and mule deer and then to the Dakotas for antelope on their way back to Minnesota.
Weather has been just great and the fish are biting. Several of the resorts are coming in for fathead minnows on a regular basis. Cass is producing walleye, perch and some real nice sunfish in Allen's Bay. They are working the walleye in about 18 feet of water and up shallow in the evening.
Hope you are all enjoying this nice Fall weather we are having. Stop by when you are in the area.
Sounds like the grouse hunters are hearing plenty of grouse in the woods, but with all the leaves they are hard to see. Give that a week or so and that should improve.
Good hunting and fishing from all of us at Froggys!

Fishing Report
September 10, 2009
The perch bite is on. Cass Lake, Winnie and Pike Bay all have been doing well. They are picking up some walleye too, starting out in that 16 to 18 foot range. Cedar Bar and North Cedar Bar on Cass are producing walleye. Shad raps and rapajas in the evening, along the weed lines seem to be working.
They have been getting some nice northern on Big Wolf, using a bobber and minnow.
Bear season is on. We have registered about 22 bear so far. My wife, shot her first bear on the opening day, with one shot. It weighed in at 190 pounds. She did the "Froggy Dance" out in the woods. She was really excited! My brother-in-law also got a big bear, weighing in at 384 pounds, field dressed. That was a beauty!
Fall seems to be settling in. Don't know where the summer went to. We have had really nice weather this last 10 days or so. The best fishing is yet to come.
Good luck to all the fishermen and you hunters out there.

Walleye are biting on Cass Lake off the breaks and bars. Some guys have had good luck with creek chubs on snells in 30 to 40 feet of water. Some guys have also done well with crawlers and leeches in about l8 feet. Perch are going in about 4 to 7 feet on weed lines and breaks. Work the edge of the bars at night using crank baits.
Kitchi has also been producing some walleye in 10 to 12 feet, on the edge of the breaks.
Weather was just great today and sounds like it should be nice most of next week. Hope you can get out on the water and enjoy these nice days.

Fishing Report

Well, we finally have summer this week! Sure is nice to have the warm temperatures and the sunshine.
Cass Lake has been producing walleye in the evenings trolling with raps, on the north end of the lake, in about 8 to 9 feet of water. They have also been picking up some nice perch south of Cedar Island. Northerns have been productive, using a sucker minnow and bobber.
Sucker Bay and Pine Point on Leech have also been producing some walleye and northerns. And if your looking for northerns, Big Wolf is always a lake to try.
With this warmer weather, the musky should be turning on and getting active.
Hope you can all get out and enjoy this nice weather!

Fishing Report
July 29, 2009
Most of the fishing action is currently on the north end of Cass Lake, with the best luck between 9:30PM and 12:30AM, trolling raps along the gravel bars.
I really recomment locating the fish on a graph first. The walleyes are constantly moving, not staying in one spot for more than two hours. Using leeches or crawlers in six to twelve feet will produce the best results.
Lake Winnie has been seeing an increase in perch and walleye activity and the muskie bite is starting. Northern are being caught using a sucker minnow and a bobber on the edge of a good weed line. For best results fish in nine feet of water about six and a half feet down.
Creek chubs and leeches have been working best on Pike Bay. Crawlers are also producing some bites. Perch are being caught on the east public landng along the edge of the weed lines.
Hope to see you out on the water!

Fishing Report

Cass Lake has been producing a good bite since the warm weather moved in and the mayfly hatch is over. Best results are when using a lindy rig in eight to ten feet of water tipped with a night crawler or leech. The evening bite has been strong, trolling slowly in eight to twelve feet of water, using a shallow running shad rap on the break lines.
Northern action is also improving using a sucker minnow and bobber. Sunfish have also been caught on Cass Lake using a chunk of night crawler or wax worms or small leeches. Sunfish and northen are also doing well on Lake Andrusia and many small area lakes are starting to produce some bass.
Anglers have been doing well on Pike Bay, catching walleyes in eight to twelve feet of water using leeches on a blue and white or chartreuse jig.
Hope to see you out on the water.
