Fishing Report

July 4, 2012

Happy 4th of July! We have spent the last couple of days cleaning up after our big storm that went through on Monday evening. Power was out for about a day, so we lost most of our minnows. We had about 8 trees blow down around our house too. With the help of family, friends and neighbors, we are pretty much back to normal, if there is such a thing!

With the warm weather, walleye have slowed down, but payfish and bass are biting. Best bet for the walleye is still shadraps and rapajas, in the evening or spinner rigs and crawlers on Cass. Water temps are right around 80 degrees.

Our DNR printer got fried during the storm, so we are waiting for a replacement, which we should have sometime Friday, so we can print out licenses. Our phone and coffee pot, along that south wall, also no longer work. There are still some residents of Cass Lake and several resorts in the area that are without power. Lots of trees went down, but thankfully, no one was injured.

Hope you all had a good 4th of July.

Good fishing!
